Saints First C Award Umpiring Course

Thanks to Debbie Ashworth who agreed to run a C Award Course for all the budding umpires at club. Debbie has regularly been working with young players at club during training night. Some have already umpired at Junior League. So along with some of our more experienced players she ran a C Award course for 16 on Sunday July 5th

A brilliant day with classroom and practical work which everyone mastered with total success. Debbie was delighted with the standard and will now hopefully with some mentoring, be helping some of the most talented gain their C award umpiring qualification in the near future

The Wedding

It was a fairy tale wedding day for Carly Taylor and her amazing finance Nellie Webber. The sun was shining, Crantock Church looked amazing decorated with local flowers. Friends and family filled the church to the brim. The service was beautiful, with laughter and joy and even the family dogs getting in on the act. Dollie the golden retriever was a model of good behaviour whilst Millie the dachshund got stage fright and tried to do a runner, with the wedding rings around her neck. However all ended well the dog was caught, the rings recovered and the ceremony proceeded without hitches.

So it was then the glorious setting of the Headland Hotel Newquay for the reception. Wonderful food, plenty of wine and good company set the scene for a great night. With dancing to Company B 40s Blues Band, glorious weather nothing could have been more perfect.

For Carly and Nellie there are challenges ahead working towards Carly's recovery BUT they will be facing that challenge together as man and wife. It was truly wonderful to see so many friends and family there to help celebrate this next stage of their lives. Thanks must go to Penny and James and the band of hard working helpers who made this such a special day for all involved
